Do you think that Rebecca will become the next Mera Mera no Mi user and then be asked to join Luffy's crew?

I think out of all the fighters we’ve been introduced to, her desire for the fruit is quite most valid to me.  She’s most likely taking revenge for something that he did to her family or it could be that she’s a slave forced to fight for her life.  Everyone else wants it for power reasons and that other guy just wants it to get back into the spotlight.  He could just go and pillage a couple of islands in order to do that.

I do have a feeling that if there is to be another person joining the mugiwaras then it would be a female.  It makes the ratio a little more even.  I need to see where she stands as a character but right now I could see her as a contender.  I personally prefer Jinbe but I can tell this is going to be a long arc.  There’s a lot that’s going to happen.

Who else thinks that the old geezer was once a member of Roger’s crew?  But I think that being a member of Roger’s crew is more plausible than being an admiral.  The reaction garnered from that bar seemed more famous pirate than a member of the WG.  I just think that there would be more alarm from people since this isn’t actually the most legal island in terms of events.  Right now I’m leaning towards former pirate but that can all change within the next chapter.

opxnnp:

Uhmm… So, maybe they have something to do with each other.. ô_ô

can’t believe that I never noticed that.  I get why Doflamingo and Mihawk have them though.  It’s totally Shichibukai friendship bracelets and Blueno wants in so he made his own.

A chapter full of action.  We’re finally going to start moving on from Punk Hazard and going onto bigger and better islands~  The surprise Oda left for us at the end is quite nice and I’ll being more in-depth on that at the end of this post.

I love you Franky.  And his awesome hair is back!  I think Oda knew we liked it more!  You’re more upset by the fact that they tried to steal your cola rather than that they’re probably the enemy.  The double-team of Baby 5 and Buffalo is quite flawless and fun to watch.  I’m amazed at how much Franky’s evolved.  He’s the battle Franky that will probably be able to defeat actual sea kings in the future.  But he can’t because they’re our friends.  Luffy can hear their voices.

Basically, Buffalo and Baby 5 are just punching bags ever since they made it to Punk Hazard.  They’ve done very minimal damage to Franky.  The stark difference in reactions from the women to the men and kids is just hilarious.  The girls are just so unimpressed by Franky’s form.

Law’s obviously very familiar with Buffalo who probably owes him money or tried to borrow from him.  I think that Law was in Doflamingo’s crew before Baby 5 so that’s why  it takes him a second to remember her name.  Aching for that flashback.  ”For your sake Joker… reserved the seat of the Hearts…” Let’s take a moment to analyze this line from Buffalo.  Well, it’s a clear indication that they’re still alive and well but we have no clue where they are.  Even though Law broke it off from Doflamingo, he still reserved “seats” for him and his crew members.  I guess that Doflamingo viewed Law’s first leaving as just teenage rebellion.  Law is the one to declare them officially as the enemy.

The Usopp and Nami combination is one of my favorites in the whole manga.  Their speech before attack is just classic.  And I think that Nami might be a little less boobs but that could just be the angle Oda drew her at.  I think that Nami’s thundercloud is quite impressive and shows how much she’s evolved.  Buffalo is like a fly compared to that cloud.  Usopp with the sea stone surprise is fantastic!  That’s what he picked them up for a few chapters back.  I imagine that they’ll be taking the three enemies in as hostages.  Or they’ll save Baby 5 and Buffalo but tie them up and strand them on Punk Hazard as a gift for Doflamingo when he gets there.  Oh, and Sanji’s expression when everyone is so fierce is classic.

Who could this silhouette be?  I’m putting my chips on it being Aokiji since he made such a big appearance in Film Z and who else falls asleep in the middle of the ocean on a barely suitable method of transportation.  It could be Mihawk but I just don’t see what business he would have on Punk Hazard.  He has other places to be.  I think that Aokiji’s going back there to pick up his bike since he didn’t have time to after his fight with Akainu.  It could also be a new character.  Hopefully this one isn’t out to kill Luffy and rather becomes their ally.

missallsundays replied to your post: I don’t care if Aokiji or Mihawk…

but why would aokiji be more relevant to the upcoming arc?  it could also be a new character or, as i keep saying, vegapunk >_>

To be frank, those two characters were just the first to pop into my head when I saw the silhouette.  And Aokiji with his resignation from the Navy and basically free-flowing ways leads me to believe it could be him if I was just to choose from those two characters.  He was involved on the island 2 years ago in the fight between him and Akainu.  Maybe he forgot his bike?  Or left something in that ice cave of prisoners on the island.

Now if I were to branch out of those two then your speculation could be correct as well.  It would be extremely cool if it was a new character and he wasn’t a devil fruit user and turned out to be a good guy but they have to fight him!  Although the guy seems lost on the sea and might not make it in time.  For me, I don’t think it’s Vegapunk because the figure is traveling on a raft.  As far as I can assume from what my eyes make of the silhouette.  I would think that Vegapunk would have a more sophisticated form of transportation being one of the world’s greatest scientists.   But I definitely do see why it could be.  It’s hard to tell since Oda has such a talent at drawing vague silhouettes.

I think it’s Aokiji because of the whole napping aspect of it.  And he seems more relevant in the upcoming arc.   But it could be Mihawk since his sense of direction could correspond with his swordsman ways, therefore removing any sense of it.  And that one curved line sticking out of the silhouette reminds me of his sword.  Although, Mihawk’s probably terrorizing rookie armadas and destroying them with his rabbit hunting knife.

shinsekai-ni-itte:

This is a very far-fetched theory, but I have plenty to support it. So listen in, if only for the lolz. Face it. One day they are going to get their final Nakama. A lot of people may argue that the crew is already full, but you never know. At the start of the series, Luffy…

umm, I love this theory.  What if that’s where we see Luffy’s mom?  Although we don’t know if she’s dead or alive.

(via furanky)

This chapter was just mind-blowing in every single way shape and form.  We’ll get to that in a couple of paragraphs since I’d like to talk about some other things first.

Baby 5’s devil fruit is a paramecia but it has the qualities of logia in that the user can reform as long as they have all the parts but that’s only when they’re in weapon form.  She only takes damage when she’s in human form.  I just want to mention that she’s definitely going to be one of my favorite females in the future.  Sexy long legs, looks so badass when she’s smoking, and she’s got perfect hair.  I’m putting her up against Robin in the future.  But the long legs are so perfect to match-up with Sanji (he’d die the moment she moves).

Okay, I’m so done.  Franky has a theme song for his Battle Franky!  Thank you Oda~  I love this fight.  Human weapons taking it out on each other.  Actually, maybe Franky will be her enemy on Dressrosa.  I don’t think they’ll be able to finish up their fight here on Punk Hazard due to Oda’s trolling and they need to go before Doflamingo rips them apart.

I just want to say that the Doflamingo family is the most precious thing in the world.  That smile Vergo makes as Doflamingo basically tells him that he’s going to die is perfect.  There’s totally something more to these two.  Mangapanda translation made it seem like they were married but I trust mangastream more and this relationship is of Master and servant.  Thinking up head canons of their secret marriage though.  And their lovechild is Law.

Momonosuke is precious as well but in a different way.  The eel joke will never get tiring.  Is Momonosuke an emergency food supply as well?  I feel like it’s going to be really easy to reverse the effects of the gas but we just haven’t tried anything yet.  What if all you have to do is splash a little water on them?

I see the new Law/Robin shippers popping up out there.  I can’t ship it at all.  Law/Kid for life!  But Robin and Law would kind of maybe be friends even though Law’s so done with the Mugiwaras.  Luffy changing his plans every 30 seconds is frustrating enough as it is.  He probably wouldn’t associate himself with any of them outside of this alliance besides Chopper.  He and Robin would meet in random coffee shops to talk about how “interesting” her crew is every Wednesday though.

Precious Monet.  Her final words are “I bid thee farewell, Young Master… you are the man… who will become… the Pirate King…!”  I have to admit that I kind of teared up there.  I’m always going to root for Luffy but it’s just how faithful Doflamingo’s crew is that makes it touching.  He might be ruthless but you can tell that the possible deaths of Monet and Vergo hit home a little in that tiny panel where his hand his on his forehead.  This whole arc has been emotion from the G-5 sacrifices here and there, the fact that Law’s crew is somewhere we don’t know and then this just blew it out of the water.

Sucks to be you Caesar.  And it’s also awkward that Monet got her boob stolen by Law.  We get her topless shot but where’s the proper Law one?

Doflamingo flies.  He looks quite angry but that panel of him flying is just adorable!  I want a pet Doflamingo.  Who needs a cool ship when you’re a bird.  Okay, so I know a lot of people are looking forward to the clash between Doflamingo and Mugiwaras but I think it’s way too early.  We’ve never really had a clue as to his strength before the time-skip and I’m sure he hasn’t been sitting around doing nothing for two years.  He might have underestimated Law’s growth but that doesn’t mean he can’t beat Law.  These are my possible scenarios…

  • Doflamingo makes it in time and they clash but Mugiwaras are horribly defeated. Things happen, Caesar is taken back and they chase him back to Dressrose where the next arc takes place.
  • Doflamingo doesn’t make it.  Law/Luffy alliance heads to the tea party since that’s probably where all the SAD has been going.  Maybe it’s a tea party where her crew members eat SAD.  Smoker lets them get away again.
  • We get a Law/Vergo/Doflamingo/Heart Pirates flashback.  Any day now.
  • Doflamingo makes it but just laughs as the Mugiwaras and Law sail away to their next island.

This is going to be a combination post of chapters 692 and 693 since I didn’t do them individually.

First, I want to applaud Luffy on the excellent finishing move on Caesar.  And it’s kind of funny to watch Caesar beg for his as it starts to flash before his own eyes.  His facial expressions are probably some of the best Oda’s drawn in terms of I’m-about-to-pee-myself-I’m-so-scared not sexy.  He saves those for when he wants to kill fangirls with Law’s face.

Now, onto the brokers~  We see familiar silhouettes but still have no clue as to who they are.  The guy drinking wine seems to be a possible old character but there’s not enough indication.  Tamago is telling Pekoms to call Big Mom so I imagine she’ll be just that much more angry with Luffy’s pure existence.  Who is this Jack?   I’m getting the feel that he’s a powerful guy with the reaction from the smaller mouse-like guy.  Watching these brokers is exciting.  And the guy that is probably Rob Lucci (fingers-crossed) tells his subordinate or maybe Blueno to report the information to the New World.  Well, if Luffy’s involved then nothing is ever kept under wraps.  That’s not the Mugiwara way of dealing with things.  It’s going to be difficult for Law and Luffy from now on since the New World is going to be well informed of their alliance.  Although a lot of the big guys have some kind of alliance going on anyway.  The Luffy-Law combo is just perfect for me since they’re like my two favorite crews ever.  And then you’ve got Killer standing there in deep-thought.  Kidd’s going to be upset.

Going back to the Mugiwaras.  Brook’s carrying Kinemon’s body that has been encased by the poison gas.  There’s definitely going to be a way to treat the effects of the gas since the guy can’t just die.  He’s got to star in a whole arc.  It’s either going to be a combined effort from both Chopper and Law to possibly cure the victims or they’ll be able to recapture Caesar and force the cure out of him all while threatening him.

Law and Luffy arguing is just adorable.  Law’s mister step-by-step plan and Luffy just does what his heart says to do.  And that’s send Caesar flying out of the lab.  I’ll fast foward regarding this prediction since it goes onto the next chapter.  Doflamingo needs Caesar or else he won’t be able to produce anymore SAD.  If Buffalo and Baby 5 are able to complete the mission and bring Caesar back then Luffy-Law alliance is heading straight to Dressrose without a doubt.  Now to Caesar holding “Smoker’s” heart.  The probablility that it’s Smoker’s heart is quite low.  Monet’s not going to be able to press that button since her heart is very likely to be the one in Caesar’s hands.  He’s going to squeeze it nice and hard and she’ll be out for good.  Law’s a pirate but he’s got morals. With the way everything is working out, despite Luffy straying from the plan every now and then, I think Law’s serious about the alliance.

We finally get some insight as to the characterizations of Baby 5 and Buffalo.  Baby 5 has some kind of extreme dependency disorder.  She’s hugely in debt because she has so many newspaper subscriptions, gives back more than she borrows and pays for the shopping of others.  To me, she’s definitely a good person although has horrible judgement.  Her previous fiance was gross.  He thought he hit the lottery when she said yes and then Doflamingo blows him up along with his whole town.  An important detail to take into account is that she calls him Joker instead of Young Master like others in crew/pimp house/mansion/whatever he calls it.  Buffalo is like the creepy uncle that you kind of like but he’s a mooch since he doesn’t work and has a gambling problem.  I like him a lot though.  I like everyone in Doflamingo’s crew.  So Law’s like his little brother and so is Baby 5.  They could have been bought in auctions by Doflamingo at the same time.  Just my two cents.

Finally, I’ll end the post with Doflamingo.  He’s ruthless and I love it.  That’s a formidable enemy that is worthy of the name Shichibukai.  He also puts on a pretty decent act even though he’s totally bullshitting Monet about actually feeling bad for her possible death.  It’s praise-worthy to see how dedicated a woman like Monet is to Doflamingo.  This is just building up so much for Dressrosa that I hope has to happen next.

Now to wait for the next chapter~
